Illuminate, A Light on Asian Hate
A Community Art Installation A visual celebration of The Asian Spirit in the Community. Made Possible by Adele Andrade-Stadler, Councilwoman, and The City of Alhambra
Noé asked several community members, friends, and family to participate by writing a statement about their relationship with an Asian friend, local business, or neighbor with whom they have had a positive experience. The goal is to turn the toxic energy of hate towards that of love. To remove our blinders and listen to the humanity of others, especially that of Asian Americans in our community. The written statements were then printed on rice paper and affixed to paper lanterns. The goal is for the audience/community to reflect on their personal experiences with the Asian community.
